Festive period

Hi Ladies!

Is everyone ready for the festive period?!

I would love to see any pictures of your decorated houses if you have done this already!

What are your plans over this period? Do you have any family traditions that you will be repeating this year?

Have you got any parties coming up? If so, what look will you be going for this year?

Me and my family usually go up to our house in the Lake District (UK) but we are not doing that this year so I think I will be having a quiet one at home, spending time with family and friends.

We also have our office Christmas party tonight so looking forward to that!

@Bex I took some photos last night of my work (so far. There may be more haha!) I had a lot of fun doing it. Here’s an Instagram link to it (beware that the last photo has a naughty word on it but it’s in humorous taste!)

And here is a preview photo of two of my three silly dogs showing their appreciation. Or lack thereof😂

No big party plans. Just a quiet time at home with my boyfriend’s two boys and the dogs, as well as my brother and possibly my boyfriend’s mom. If any events arise, we will certainly attend. We do hope to take the children to a Yule log event tomorrow with caroling, story telling, a bonfire and a Yule Log hunt!

I am ready....lol. Anyways I am not decorating. I have an active toddler that will dismantle that tree...I might put it up for one day though...still thinking about it. We were supposed to travel to Nevada but plans changed so maybe we can drive to the next state and see some family and if not it will be a quiet Christmas at home.

We have a few holiday and family parties lined up.  I think I'm going to go for a more classic, polished look, lots of years I am usually in silly Xmas clothes.  We are doing less gifts and more friends and family time this year.

I am at my sister’s house in Texas for a few days. This is her skinny tree that we decorated the other day! Storms are coming in and we are supposed to drive to Oklahoma on Saturday for her daughter’s wedding. Lots of shopping to do yet and my back is giving out! Got to get over that quickly! Will try to send pictures when I get home.

Hi Bex! We’re going to travel with 3 dogs to spend time with family. We have lights outside and a tree indoors. My pug loves to relax under it.

@Bex  have fun at your party x I’ve not decorated as yet as we have some early Dec birthdays so like to get them done and celebrated first. I have been busy baking, pickling and freezing so as to have more free time over the Xmas break. Loving the pics posted already x

I love this time of year @Bex the lights, the cold, the festivities 🥳 I haven’t done any decorating but love seeing everyone else’s pics 😁

@Bex Every year I have family come over for Christmas Eve. We celebrate with lots of food and fun games. Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday.

@Bex  this year we bought a Grinch Christmas tree and that is what we are putting up in the house this year. I have got a Santa costume for my dog and will post a picture when i put her in it .

we are going to spend time with friends this year and also my nephew and his kids

@Bex We decorated outside. Lights in the trees and bushes. No tree inside this year because our twin toddlers will probably go after it. Hopefully next year again. No definite plans yet. My mother-in-law will be coming from overseas and will stay with us so we probably just have a nice Christmas at home as a family.

@Hendrika “Mother-in-law”,and the word,”probably” do go hand in hand. 😅

@Bex we have not decorated yet. Been extremely busy and hoping to get the tree and decorations up soon. Love everyone’s holiday photos.

We've only put up the big tree so far, and a little mini one for the loft/craft room which I got from Singapore. I also made some pine cone ornaments last year so that's on display too. I tell myself every year that this is the Christmas I will be super organised - the house will be filled with decorations, all presents purchased on time, and I will finish everything early with no last minute prep - but every year it never happens! 😂

@Ruiyyanko Those are lovely. Do you make them yourself?

@Puglove88 my littlest dog is the same way! Every year he lives in the skirt hahaha...he even brings his treats over to it to eat them. He’s very spoiled but also just LOVES Christmas!

I am just going to be chilling at home pretty much.

@Naffy786 Sounds good to me,Naf! "Home is where the horror is". I mean the heart! 😌

@Bex  I didn't decorate yet.  Kinda late with it.  I plan on having a cozy Christmas with my husband and children first.  We will celebrate all day then hopefully go to a Mongolian Grill..  This will be the second year we have done this and their food is yummy!  We will later get together with family.

@Taewow have you ever been to Genghis Grill, they have tasty Mongolian food too!

@Sai  I'm not sure and I actually can't recall the exact name if the grill we visited last year.  I just know it said Mongolian grill and their BBQ was to die for.  I'll look to see if one is in my area and suggest it.

@Bex I don't feel ready this year!  Our tree isn't even up yet...  But we do have some traditions.  Unfortunately this year the local B&B's that are decorated for the holidays got rained out.  But this weekend we are going to my daughter's best friend's annual gingerbread house making party.  Then we will go to the strolling wine and appetizer walk throughout some Inns in the village.  We will spend Christmas AM in our home with just me , my daughter and husband opening gifts and eating cinnamon rolls.  The we go to my mom's for brunch and dinner, and a holiday walk on the beach with her dogs, weather permitting.  And the week after Christmas we travel to my husband's family to have two more Christmases!

And no decorations yet, hopefully up tomorrow, but my daughter's elves are back!

@Bex I am ready, however I don't have any pictures of our tree yet! I will try to remember to take some this weekend to post!

We normally spend the first half of the day at my sisters house with my side of the family, and then rush home as my husbands side of the family comes over in the evening.
